RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management
This Level 2 qualification is a recognised industry-standard qualification, required to work as a Pest Control Technician, in public health pest control. It is designed to provide an understanding of public health pests and their management. It fulfils the legal requirement relating to the training of pest control technicians, as set out in the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986.
RSPH Level 3 Award in Pest Management
The course is ideal for technicians who wish to progress within the industry. It will enable successful candidates to demonstrate their advanced knowledge and expertise of pest management. Candidates will gain comprehensive knowledge on pest management, identifying and distinguishing invertebrate pests from commonly associated invertebrate animals.
RSPH Level 2 Award in the Safe Use Of Rodenticides
This qualification will provide delegates with an understanding of why the purchase and use of professional use rodenticides is controlled and why other rodent control methods should be considered first, in line with the CRRU Code of Best Practice. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, delegates will gain a certificate allowing them to purchase rodenticide.
Air Rifle Safety
This course combines theory and practical elements, providing delegates with the relevant knowledge to safely and effectively use airguns in the context of professional pest control. The course covers the legislation and practical skills required for the use of airguns and includes health & safety, principles of marksmanship and the selection and maintenance of associated equipment.
Mole Trapping
This course will provide delegates with the knowledge needed to provide effective mole control, including the selection of and correct setting of mole traps. This course includes a practical field based session, where you will gain hands on experience setting traps in the ground. Delegates will be required to wear clothing and footwear appropriate for wet and muddy conditions.
Environmental Risk Assessment & Surveying
This course looks at the practical techniques for undertaking a survey for pests and how to complete an environmental risk assessment, in a combination of classroom and practical based scenarios. You will learn how to carry out a comprehensive site survey and risk assessment, so the nature and source of infestations can be identified and the appropriate solutions implemented.
Practical Insect Control
This 1 day training course will give you hands on experience of all steps involved in the professional control of insect pests. The journey through the insect control process will encapsulate insect identification, monitoring, non-toxic and chemical control options and how to use chemical options in a safe and effective way.
